Boughton, Dunkirk & Hernhill War Memorials

Herbert Hart is remembered with honour at the War Memorial at Dunkirk, but no service records have yet been found that tie up positively with his name.


He was baptised at St Barnabas, Boughton, on 6 August 1893. His parents were Fred and Emma Hart of Oversland. In the 1901 census, Fred was an Innkeeper, and the 1911 census he gave his occupation as garden labourer, while In the 1911 Census 17 year-old Herbert was an Assistant Grocer, living with his parents in South Street, Dunkirk
